Travel Races LLC ("Travel Races," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Travel Races mobile application and website at travel-races.com (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information you give us directly and information generated through your use of the app.

• Name, email address, and profile photo when you create an account
• Running pace, sun sign, moon sign, and music preferences you add to your profile
• Emergency contact name and phone number you provide for safety features
• Location data to show you nearby races and run clubs (only when you grant permission)
• Strava account data, including run history and stats, when you connect your Strava account
• Messages sent in race and run club group chats
• Device information including operating system, app version, and device identifiers
• Usage data such as features you interact with and pages you visit within the app

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information to operate and improve the Service, including to:

• Create and manage your runner profile
• Show you races and run clubs relevant to your location
• Connect you with other runners in race and run club group chats
• Sync your running data from Strava to your profile
• Send you notifications about races, clubs, and community activity (you can opt out at any time)
• Ensure the safety and integrity of our community
• Respond to your questions and support requests
• Analyze how the app is used to improve features and fix issues

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information to serve targeted advertising.

WHEN WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We share information only in the following circumstances:

• With other users: your profile name, photo, pace, and vibe are visible to other Travel Races members as part of the community experience
• With run leaders, who can see members of their run group and moderate group chat
• With service providers who help us operate the app, including hosting, analytics, and communication tools, under confidentiality agreements
• With Strava, when you choose to connect your account, governed by Strava's own privacy policy
• When required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request or to protect the safety of our users
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of Travel Races LLC, with notice provided to you

LOCATION DATA

Travel Races requests access to your device location to show you races and run clubs near you. Location access is optional. You can use the app without granting location permission, though some features will be limited. You can change your location permissions at any time in your device settings under Travel Races.

USER GENERATED CONTENT AND CHAT

Travel Races includes moderated group chats inside races and run clubs. Messages you send in these spaces are visible to other approved members of that group and to run leaders who moderate conversations. Do not share sensitive personal information in group chats. Travel Races is not responsible for information you choose to share publicly within the community. Run leaders have the ability to remove members from group conversations. Travel Races reserves the right to remove content or users that violate our community standards.

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer. Anonymized and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Travel Races is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. Contact us at hello@travel-races.com if you believe we may have information from a child under 13.

YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information in your profile
• Delete your account and associated personal data
• Opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link
• Withdraw consent for location access through your device settings
• Disconnect your Strava account at any time through your profile settings

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission and secure storage. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Travel Races account.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify you through the app or via email if the changes are material. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
